The Slips

The Slips are a UK electronic music duo, composed of David Treahearn and Rob Haggett. The pair formed the band in Kentish Town in London, mid 2007 after both had worked together as studio engineers at Olympic Studios, London with artists including Madonna, Bjork, Gwen Stefani, New OrderOasis, Massive Attack.[1][2]

Along with producing original music, The Slips are also DJ's and dance music remixers [3] having remixed international artists such as The Crystal Fighters,[4] CSS,[5] LCD Soundsystem[6] The XX,[7] I Blame Coco, Phoenix,[8] Kylie Minogue and[9] Ellie Goulding as featured in NME Magazine.[10] They have also remixed artists Gotye,[11] Bertie Blackman[12] and Zowie.[13] Their remixes and live performances have seen them featured in UK press including AXM Magazine,[14] The Gay Times,[15] US digital music blog aggregator Hype Machine[16] and Music Week.

Along with regular live performances around UK clubs, in 2009 the band performed at Glastonbury Festival [17] as part of Q magazine's 'Emerging Talent' program on the Queen's Head stage.[18] Other major UK & European live performances include the O2 Wireless festival in London's Hyde Park,[19] and The Great Escape Festival [20] in 2008 supporting Alex Metric, Pnau and Adam Freeland, 2010's The Amsterdam Dance Event Music Industry conference,[21] the Remix Bubble at Secret Garden Party and in 2011 at The O2 Arena Proud2 Gallery with Kasabian.[22]

In 2010 the UK Music Industry Annual 'The Unsigned Guide' featured The Slips "The Rise Of The Slips: A Roadmap To Learn From' [23] and in late 2011, dance music label Ministry Of Sound featured The Slips on the Australian Ministry Of Sound 2012 Annual Compilation[24] for their remix of Flight Facilities track 'Foreign Language'.[25]

Treahearn and Haggett are also UK music production team, DNR.
